What?

The expedition gathered high-fidelity audio and video recordings of musical cultures in Tibet between July and September 2005.  This was a first attempt to document the liturgical ritals of the Bodong-pa school of Buddhism and the folk music of the Porong region. Complete sets of recordsing made by the expedition are archived at the following locations:
  • The British Library Sound Archive, London
  • The Oriental Institute, Oxford University
  • The Himalayan Digital Library (www.thdl.org)
  • Tibetan Academy of Social Science, Lhasa, Tibet
Relevant media has also been sent to the communities and monasteries that the expedition visited in Tibet and to the exiled Porong-ba community in Kathmandu.
