Why?

Recordings of the Bodong-pa and the folk culture of the Porong-ba are of interest to three main parties:

A Significant and growing community of academics interested in these unique and endangered Tibetan traditions.
The Porong-ba and Bodong-pa themselves, particularly those living in exile and now deprived of their cultural heritage. Recordings are an important means for reconstructing lost traditions and preserving those that still exist.
The wider public, both present and future, who may enjoy, learn from, or otherwise benefit from exposure to these distinct musical forms.
