Why?
Recordings of the Bodong-pa and the folk culture of the Porong-ba are of interest to three main parties:- A Significant and growing community of academics interested in these unique and endangered Tibetan traditions.
- The Porong-ba and Bodong-pa themselves, particularly those living in exile and now deprived of their cultural heritage. Recordings are an important means for reconstructing lost traditions and preserving those that still exist.
- The wider public, both present and future, who may enjoy, learn from, or otherwise benefit from exposure to these distinct musical forms.
